My Baby is Graduating

I'm having such a hard time digesting the fact that my youngest is graduating high school.   This school year has just flown by.  When he turned 18 a couple of months ago, that was hard, but for some reason, this is even harder.  I know this is what is suppose to happen, but the "Empty Nest" syndrome is taking over!!!

His Dad and I are so very proud of him.  He's a very determined, straight forward young man.  He is also sweet and caring.  I know that he will succeed at anything he puts his mind to.  Oh and a hard worker, he's isn't afraid to get dirty to get something done.

These announcements were designed in Photoshop 10 and printed on my home printer.  We sat down one day (well more like 5 min.) and picked something he liked by surfing on line.  Oh and I also took his pictures...that was so much fun!  Well not exactly, he didn't want to "pose" for me because he wasn't a "model"!

This is the announcement we sent out.  I had a few issues with my copier (reason I'm shopping for a new one) Overall I think that they came out really nice.  I even took his pictures.  I was hoping he would let me take them.  I know I'm not a professional, but It does make me happy that I was able to take both of my boys graduations cards and announcements.

Here is what I put in the card insert.  I wasn't  going to do them this way, but what I thought were envelopes ended up being cards, so I put them to use.  They look really nice this way.  Oh and I made the Vellum Insert was created in Silhouette Studio Designer Edition and cut out with my Cameo.

Here is the finished the project.  I also used my Silhouette Cameo to design and cut out circle labels
to put on the back of the envelope.  The envelope was addressed using a white gel pen.

Below is a few more pictures that I took.  I still have a few more that I would like to edit.

And of course I have to throw in a couple of his Senior Prom pictures!!

Aren't they so cute together.  His beautiful girlfriend is gorgeous!!

Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Thanks Glenna, they were fun to make except for the foil labels. They would not print in my ink jet or on the top tray of my laser.....I had to put the in the paper trey and it finally worked.

  5. Tanya, your photos and announcements are so professional looking! And your son is so handsome, he may not be a model, but he sure could be! I understand about the "empty nest" thing, it's a difficult adjustment at first but then it becomes the new normal.

    1. Awww, thanks Jeanie. It's another one of my things I love to do. I doubt I'll ever get to all of them, so I pin them. I hope you are right about the "empty nest" thing. Right now, I'm just trying to figure out how to get everyone together for a vacation.
