It's Almost Here

Friday, yep it's almost here.  Work has been a little stressful these days, so I'm really looking forward to my weekend OFF!!  I'm ready to do some gardening and working on  my flower beds.  I'm ready for some COLOR!  I'm so tired of looking at all the dead brown colors.   That's what I really want to do, it's the plan, but we all know plans don't all work out!  Hoping it will this time!

Another thing I would like to do is to work on some crafting projects.  And in case you would like to do the same, I'm sharing some projects I've worked on this past week.

Here they are, these cute little boxes that I made with my Silhouette Cameo and this adorable new kit in the Hello Collection Series....Hello Giggles from Peppermint Creative.

I love making gift boxes and with Graduation quickly approaching, I thought this would be perfect.

Aren't these papers from Peppermint Creative soooo stinkin' cute!?!  I absolutely love all the colors....so bright and cheery!!

Here is a close up of the flower that I purchased from the Silhouette on-line store.  I used the color picker in Silhouette Studio Designer Edition to make sure the color matched exactly to the paper.

The color picker is on the right side of your page.  You can pick a color out of the pallet or if you want the shade to really match, you can pick a color from your project you are working on.

To pick a color from your project, just click on the picker on the right and hover over the color you want from the project you are working on.

Here is another made with the papers from the Hello: Giggles series!  These would be perfect for "Thank You's" at a wedding, bridal showers, birthdays and more.  I have a wedding invite in the making (one of my plans for this weekend)  I'll have pictures posted soon (If my plans don't fall through).

Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a GREAT and WONDERFUL weekend!!

Just A Little Catching Up Post!

Sorry, for not posting in a couple of weeks.  You know how the Holidays can be so hectic.  Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.   I can't believe there is only ONE day left to 2013.  I just wanted to post some photos of things I made for Christmas...yes I know I'm a little (well...ALOT) late.  What's that saying?...."Better Late than NEVER"

I used the following sets from Peppermint Creative:
The bag cutting file was purchased from the Silhouette online store.

This is a gift that I gave to a crafty friend of mine.  Anyone that has a Silhouette machine could use a new cartridge, right?  I nailed it, she loved it.

This cute tag was done with the following sets:

Jolly Gingerbread Elements

I used the gingerbread man that is not decorated.  It's not shown in the picture but it is listed in the kit details here.

The background paper is from the new Christmas set, Holiday Hodge Podge digital papers.

This cute gift sack was made using those two sets state above.  I made his buttons using the peppermint from the same set.  The gift bag cut file is found at the Silhouette Online store.

I also made this really cute card.  I may use this for my card next year, since I didn't get one made this year.

For this little gift box, I used the Candy Cane Christmas digital papers and the Candy Cane digital element pack.
I got the little box cutting file from the Silhouette Online Store.  It's the perfect size for a nail polish

Back to School Project.....

I can't believe my son is a SENIOR this year!!  My baby, a Senior! (where are my tissues)  I also can't believe that they have been in school almost a month already.  Some schools don't start until after Labor Day!  I'm all for that!

I wish that I knew what I know about digital crafting and I had my FAVORITE tool, my Silhouette Cameo!  I would have been a major crafting momma. My kiddos would have been lacking nutrition and attention.  I can imagine how it might have been.

Kids:  Mom, I'm hungry
Me:  Not now, I'm crafting
Kids: But Mom, you said that yesterday, I haven't eaten in two days.
Me:  I'm almost done, what's one more day gonna do?
Kids:  Can we got out to play
Me:  Sure!  Have fun!

No, not really!!!  I would have Never (wink wink) done that!  Actually when they were little almost every minute was devoted to them.  Not sure that was good or not, I stayed stressed most of the time.  I think EVERY mommy needs some "me" time!  Boy the things I would have done different!

Miss Mint at Peppermint Creative has been a very busy bee!  She is busting new kits out like crazy.  I was alittle worried I wouldn't be able to keep up because my computer crashed.  I don't know if you have experienced that, but it isn't fun at all!

 Little Learner Kit

When I saw this kit, Little Learner, I knew immediately what I was going to do!  I use to love playing Memory with my kids when they were younger.  So I thought I would make a game for a teacher friend of mine to give to her kiddos in her class.

For this project I used the new kit, Little Learner!

I used the Silhouette Studio Edition to design the cards and the cute box they go in.  For the fronts I used most the bolder elements and used the composition paper for the backs.  I also cut out a third layer from a cereal box.  It was perfect thickness and gave the pieces some sturdiness.  You can use chipboard if you would like, but it is more expensive.

Here is the setting I used to cut out the cereal box.  My mat was almost new so it didn't require any extra taping down.  Speed - 1, Blade - 7, cutting mat checked and double cut checked.

For the box I modified a box file I got from The Cutting Cafe'.  I used paper from the same kit to make the top and bottom of the box.  The tag was also designed in Silhouette Studio Edition.

Here is a closer look at the elements used for the "memory" part of the game.

Thanks for stopping by.  Miss Mint at Peppermint Creative blog is going to give this away as a freebie cutting file.

Half Asleep or half awake?..........

Wow!!!  I  just went back and read a post that I did last night.  Man, I must have been half asleep.  It didn't make a word of sense.  Sorry for that!  Hopefully that won't happen again.

What I really want to share with you today is a really sweet deal at Peppermint Creative's blog.  Miss Mint has posted a couple of freebies.  Subway art freebies to be exact.  Go here to grab them.  I can't wait to frame them myself.

One other thing I would like to share with you...............

is some new cutting files that Regina made at The Cutting Cafe!  One of my favorite new files is the tall box template/cutting file that she made out of acetate sheets.  You don't have to use acetate, but I do really like the look.  I bought some sheets at Staples the other day.  Now I have to find some extra time to make it.  Go here to check it out.

Also leave a comment on the latest project at The Cutting Cafe's blog for a chance to win, not 1, not 2, but 3 sets from the store.
